A long time ago, two girls sat around
listening to their 45’s and dreaming about the fabulous lives being lived by
Andy Kim, Nicolette Larson, Gilbert O'Sullivan and Randy VanWarmer. Little did they know that not too far away
a man and his dog were wondering who would be the Dawn to his Tony? The answer:
The Kaytelles. Making every day summer vacation……
Karen is a theater-trained singer that has left a trail of
musical projects throughout the tri-state area (and the Far East). She
began her life in pop music with her sister’s classical guitar and the sheet
music to Born to Run. She joined her first band in college; in the 90’s
she appeared on Ichiro Akamatsu’s new age cd The Star You Are and on the independently released
tribute album DEVOted. She usually can be found
listening to 45’s in the rec room.
The music played by The Kaytelles
takes Hallie back to the seatbelt-less days of the
family wagon. She has appeared in the peerless Mrs. Lyles’ chorus at Anning S. Prall Junior High
School, but more recently performed with various wedding bands and jazz
ensembles. She is still sorry for breaking up with Shaun Cassidy in order
to date Andy Gibb.
Joe’s been playing in original and cover bands since before he
was legally allowed in the bars and clubs he appeared at – having to
sneak in kind of like George Harrison, but not nearly as rich or famous. After
playing every instrument associated with rock bands, he started singing lead
when one of his bands recorded a demo and they realized the original singer
couldn’t, well, sing.
Kevin’s also played in a plethora of ensembles, and is as poor
and incognito as the rest of the band.
While being the hardest working drummer in the band, he can still belt out
the harmonies and leads. After
taking an official band vote, it was determined 3 to 1 that Kevin was the best
parent.
